Hello! I'm Sasha
About Me
I’m Alexander (Sasha) Matveev, a counsellor with a Master of Counselling from City University of Seattle. My background includes crisis mental health work, community counselling, and work with youth and families across a range of settings. I currently hold registration as an RCC with BCACC and am also a Professional Member with CCPA. I’m currently completing additional training in somatic attachment psychotherapy (Bringing the Body into Practice).
My Philosophy
I work from a warm, down-to-earth, and non-judgmental place, meeting clients where they are. My approach is somatic and relational – paying attention not just to thoughts, but to what the body holds, and building the kind of safe, trusting connection where real change becomes possible. Depending on the client, I draw on ACT, Narrative, CBT, DBT, SFBT, and Family Systems work, all through a trauma-informed and culturally sensitive lens.
