Hello! I'm Patrycja

About Me

I was born in Poland and immigrated to Canada as a teenager with my family.
My interest in counselling started in high school while volunteering as a Child Life
Specialist, where I supported young children during their hospitalization. This experience led me to apply and finish my Bachelor of Psychology and Health Honours Degree at Queen’s University. Shortly after graduating I took a trip to the west coast of Canada and never left.

In 2009, I graduated with the Master of Counselling Degree from City University of Seattle in Vancouver. During my masters program I worked at two Women’s Health Clinics where I supported woman who struggled with issues related to reproductive mental health, pregnancy, and pregnancy loss. As part of my Internship I worked as a Family Therapist where I provided counselling, play and sand tray therapy to children, youth, adults, couples and families with diverse needs and backgrounds.

Over the last 10 years, I have held roles as a Child and Family Therapist, Clinical Counsellor and an Employee Assistant Service Provider. These opportunities gave me the privilege of supporting children of all ages, adolescents, adults, couples and families with a wide range of issues.

I have dedicated several years of my practice to working with women (and their partners) who have struggled with issues related to reproductive mental health, pregnancy, birth trauma, postpartum transitions, pregnancy loss, and parenting.

I moved to Victoria in 2018 with my husband and two young children. Together we love to explore the outdoors and the natural wonders that this beautiful Island has to offer.

My Philosophy

An Integrative Trauma-Informed Clinical Counsellor working with children, teens, adults, couples and families.

I welcome individuals of all ages (3+), genders and abilities.  My approach to therapy is client-centered, holistic, neurodiversity-affirming, strength and mindfulness based, grounded in neuroscience and attachment theory.  I feel privileged to support clients and strive to create a safe, confidential, shame-free space; with unconditional acceptance and compassion. With the focus on client needs and goals, I collaboratively work with individuals to help uncover their strengths, inner wisdom and resilience which helps guide their journey of healing, change and connection to their authentic self.  I offer services in English and Polish.
