About Me

My interest in counselling began when I was a young child and had an amazing counsellor of my own. I decided then that I wanted to help children and families and have been on this path ever since!

After receiving my Bachelor of Social Work with Child Welfare specialization and a minor in Psychology from the University of Victoria in 2010, I went on to complete my Master of Arts degree in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University which included a clinical internship in child, youth and family trauma therapy. I have since obtained the internationally recognized designations of Certified Trauma Treatment Specialist (CTTS) through the Association of Traumatic Stress Specialists, Registered Play Therapist (RPT) with the Association for Play Therapy, BC Registered Play Therapist Supervisor with the BC Play Therapy Association, and Approved Clinical Supervisor (Provisional) with the BCACC. In addition I serve as the communications director on the board of directors for the BC Play Therapy Association.

My professional experience began in 2005 when I volunteered as a support worker at a transition house for women and children fleeing abusive relationships. I then worked as a withdrawal management counsellor at a youth detox facility, part of the Victoria Youth Empowerment Society, from 2008 – 2017, and as a child and family trauma therapist at the Victoria Child Abuse Prevention and Counselling Center from 2015 -2017.  I opened my private practice in the spring of 2016 and have since been fortunate enough to add several wonderful practitioners to my team, allowing us to serve more children, youth and families in the Greater Victoria area.  My areas of interest include working with queer youth and families, supporting parents, supporting survivors of trauma, and connecting with children through play therapy.  My love of this work continues to grow as each year passes!

In addition to counselling I offer clinical supervision and clinical consultation to counselling students and professionals.
