Hello! I'm Jade
About Me
I specialize in supporting those with anxiety to live grounded & connected lives. I support individuals ages 10 years old and up (children, youth, adults and seniors).
Additional areas of support: emotional dysregulation, depression, grief/loss, self-esteem, life transitions, substance use, relationship/family stress, work-related stress, caregiver-related stress.
I offer compassionate support through Buddhist Psychology, Nervous System Regulation and Somatic-Based (actionable) Tools.
I’ve spent over 14 years in the helping profession in both non-profit & various health authority settings (domestic violence, mental health & substance use, homelessness, addictions, end-of-life care, cancer diagnosis & care); walking alongside adults, youth, children & families as they navigate through their emotional trauma.
I have been registered with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC) since 2012 and the First Nations Health Authority (FNHA).
My Philosophy
As a first-generation born Chinese-Canadian, born & raised here in Victoria, I have lived experience with cultural identity and inter-generational family-of-origin attachment-related trauma.
Identifying, understanding, cultivating and integrating an internal feeling of safety, self-trust and self-compassion are the foundations of the guidance and support that I provide when working with individuals to heal emotional wounds and to help with building internal emotional safety and resilience.
I completed my B.Sc. in Cognitive & Experimental Psychology in 2000, before starting my MA in Counselling Psychology in 2010, I had worked in the non-profit and public sectors in the Lower Mainland before returning back home to Victoria.
Since completing my MA in Counselling Psychology (2012) I have spent over 14 years in the helping profession working with young children, teens, youth, adults & seniors here in Victoria. From young children witnessing abuse, at-risk youth, to the street entrenched struggling with mental health & substance use, to attending to those imminently and/or actively dying in their homes.
In addition to my clinical skills, I am a Wisdom Healing Qi-Gong student, a student of the I-Ching (Book of Changes), an Advocate for Domestic Abuse Survivors and a practicing Buddhist.
