Hello! I'm Alexandra
About Me
Allow me to briefly introduce myself. I am a Registered Social Worker with a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology. I provide individual and family counselling in-person and online at our Westshore office.
My vocations in social work and counselling is motivated by a long-serving commitment to help make a positive impact in the lives of children, adults, and families. Throughout my career, I have engaged in diverse roles in the helping profession in both government and non-profit community organizations.
As a social worker, I have been dedicated to supporting children and fostering safety and empowerment for families. My undergraduate degree from the Nicola Valley Institute of Technology includes a child welfare specialization integrating mainstream and Indigenous frames of reference. I seek to provide culturally responsive care for all children, youth, and families.
As a counsellor, my practice is grounded in empathy and advocacy, supporting adults and children navigating a range of challenges, including emotional instability, depression, abuse, trauma, abandonment, loss, and more. My person-centered, collaborative approach focuses on promoting healing and growth, drawing from attachment theory, neuroscience, and mindfulness. I support clients in understanding struggles, identifying needs, uncovering resources, and moving toward their desired goals.
When I am not counselling, I am spending time with my venturesome husband, two boisterous young children, and our sweet Sheepadoodle. We enjoy exploring our local beaches, lakes, and forests. I am so grateful to live, work, and play on the beautiful territory of the Lək̓ʷəŋən and W̱SÁNEĆ peoples.
I look forward to meeting with you and hearing your story. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions.
